STUDENT GUIDELINES CONCERNING PORTFOLIO INTERVIEWS
The purpose of the interviews is to give an opportunity to the students to display the variety and scope of activities in which they are participating during their Transition Year Programme, meaning they should communicate to their interviewer their involvement in whatever pursuits they take part in - both curricular and extra-curricular.
Students should check the marking scheme for a list of material to be brought and presented at interview. These pieces of work should be of the highest standard. Extra-curricular activities should be written about, not just spoken about. These might include: Gaisce, MUN, Uganda, Winter Fair, Sports, Charity work, One Act Drama, Grapevine, Wine Dark Sea, etc.
Please also note that there are SAC Alumni Association prizes at the end of the year. They are awarded to TY students who best exemplify the TY Programme based upon this process.
There are two portfolio interviews, one in December, one in May.
Students should arrive for their interview at the time allocated, dressed neatly and ready to make a good impression!
