French

Bonjour! My name is Christine Reboul and I am the French teacher at St Andrew’s College Junior School where I am now going into my third year. I am originally from the South of France, and I have been living in Ireland since 1993.

I have a degree in Psychology from Montpellier, France, a Diploma of Teaching French as a Foreign Language and a Diploma of Montessori Education, from St Nicholas, Dublin. I am also qualified as a Special Needs Assistant. I am extremely passionate about teaching, and I have had the opportunity to teach children from the age of 3 all the way to secondary school students for twenty years in different schools.

Communication is the most important aspect in teaching a language. During French classes, I organise pen pal correspondence between P5/P6 and students from a school near Paris. We also plan Visio calls with these students which enhance communication, and the children enjoy practising their French in an authentic situation. Throughout the year we have different activities and workshops, with all classes, where children can discover and experiment with the French culture and language.
