Extra Curricular Music and Lessons
- All students must register, including existing students before attending rehearsals. Regular attendance is paramount.
- All timetables are drawn up at the beginning of every term and all information is placed on the two Music noticeboards (one in the Music Department and the other is outside the Senior Hall).

Individual lessons are available on the following instruments:
|
|
Please contact: musiclessons@st-andrews.ie for any queries. Please note that instrumental sign up will take place through this address from the 26th of August once students have their after school sports schedules. Payment must be made through EasyPayments before the first lesson or your space will not be secured. Please note priority is given to existing students. Classes start 5th September.
Attendance
Pupils are expected to attend lessons for the duration of the academic year. Those wishing to finish earlier (e.g. exam students) must give one term’s notice. Regular attendance is obligatory. Pupils unable to attend a lesson should inform their teachers prior to the lesson. Classes take place on a weekly basis. There will be no music classes during school holidays or on days, where the college is closed.
Absences/Lessons missed
Lessons missed by the teacher will be re-arranged. Lessons missed by pupils CANNOT be refunded. If reasonable notice is given, teachers may, at their discretion, re-arrange lessons. However, they are NOT obliged to do so.
Fees/Venue/Terms
All lessons will take place in the college. Lessons cost €25 per half hour class. Fees must be paid at the beginning of each term in August and at the end of January for the second term. No classes will take place without payment.
Practice
Regular practice is essential to ensure progress, development and enjoyment. Parents are asked to ensure that pupils wholly understand this and are prepared to devote time and effort to regular practice.
Exams
Exams are optional and will be arranged directly with the instrumental teacher. Where an accompanist is required, sufficient rehearsal time will be obligatory before the exam.
