K1 is the equivalent of Junior Infants under the Irish National School system or Pre-Kindergarten in the American system. Children must be four years old on or before the May of their year of entry. The academic year starts in September.

- For the non-Irish students there is a course on EFL or US studies while Irish is taking place
The Maths curriculum provides opportunities for the child to explore the nature of Mathematics and to acquire the knowledge, concepts and skills required for everyday living and for use in other subject areas.
The Mathematics curriculum comprises five strands:
- Shape and Space
The child's mathematical development at this early stage requires a large practical component. The experience of manipulating and using objects is essential for developing a deep understanding of Mathematics.
Aistear is play-based learning that incorporates SESE (Social, Environmental and Scientific Education), English and Mathematics. Students learn by doing, pretending, and creating.
Art, Computer Studies, Library, Yoga, Music, Learning Centres, and SPHE (Social, Personal, and Health Education taught in morning meetings and daily reflection).
There are two lessons of PE per week, they take place either in the Sports Hall (indoor) or out on the pitch.
