Double Bass and Bass Guitar Teacher

Andrew began his music education playing piano and trumpet at the age of 4 studying at the College of Music Dublin. During his early years he was a prizewinner at Feis Mathieu Dublin and at Feis Ceoil, winning first prize for trumpet. Andrew studied the electric bass under Geraint Roberts and Ronan Guilfoyle, while at the same time studying double bass at the Royal Irish Academy of Music under Dominic Dudley. In 2008 Andrew received a first class honours degree in Jazz Performance from Newpark Music Centre. Presently Andrew teaches at Dublin City University as a lecturer in Jazz Studies, as well as instrumental and ensemble teaching at Newpark Music Academy and St. Andrew’s College. Established as one of Ireland's foremost bassists, Andrew has a busy performance schedule and has made numerous appearances on radio and television, as well as performing all over Ireland and the U.K.. Andrew has worked with musicians such as, Larry Coryell (US), Sheryl Bailey (US), Louis Stewart (Irl) Gerald Dubyk (Can), Alain Mallet (Fra), Rick Peckham (US), Konrad Wisniewski (Sco), Nir Felder (US), Lage Lund (Nor), Steve Fishwick (UK), Brian Charette (US), Phil Meadows (UK), Ben Privo (US), Libor Smoldas (Cz), Vladimir Jablokov (Slo), Latin outfits Havana Che and Havana Son, as well as Irish musicians and groups such as Zrazy, Jack Lukeman, Imelda May, Aoife Doyle, Honor Heffernan, The Connor McKeon Band, to name a few.
