P2

Welcome to P2! My name is Marian Blaney and I have been part of the St. Andrew’s College Junior School (SACJS) team since January 2017. My journey in SACJS began in P5 but I have also taught P4 and in Support for Learning before arriving in P2. I lived in London for four years in which I trained and took my first teaching role. My teacher training was a Post-Graduate Certificate in Education from St. Mary’s University, Twickenham.
I grew up not far from SACJS but am fortunate to have visited many countries where I experienced different cultures and beliefs which I loved. I have always been passionate about working with children, having coached gymnastics from an early age. Despite my love of teaching and working with children, I followed a different path after leaving school. I studied Commerce in University College Dublin and became an Associate Chartered Accountant in 2011. I quickly realised this was not for me and so began my journey into teaching.
SACJS is a wonderfully unique learning experience for all and is built on a strong foundation of belonging. Each of the children is encouraged to explore and question their learning in a vibrant and busy environment and I endeavour to promote that in my classroom. My goal for each of the children in my care is that they enjoy their final year in Infants but come the end of the academic year, they are ready for the challenges of P3 and beyond! It is an exciting year that sees a huge leap in maturity and independence with all of the innocence and fun of infants. I look forward to sharing this year with you and your children and rely on the communication
Should you have any questions or queries, please don’t hesitate to contact me.
