K2

ST ANDREW'S COLLEGE DUBLIN watermark

I am honoured to be the K2 teacher at St Andrew’s College for the 2024-2025 school year.

Originally from Canada, I have a Bachelor of Education from the University of Alberta. In my time teaching in Canada, I gained experience in five different grade levels. I arrived in Ireland in August of 2023, and was given the opportunity to cover a maternity leave here at St Andrew’s College for a wonderful P4 class. I am looking forward to bringing my energy and enthusiasm to the Senior Infants class this year.

My philosophy is that ‘kids do well if they can’ (Ross Greene), and I do my best to create a classroom environment that contributes to student success. This means making sure students are recognised for their strengths, feel safe making mistakes, and are comfortable being themselves. I aim to provide memorable learning opportunities that engage students’ unique interests and abilities while building their confidence as learners. Students will learn to have kindness and compassion for themselves and others.

I believe that we become our best selves when we nurture all parts of our individuality; so outside of school, I enjoy singing soprano in The Guinness Choir, learning new languages, and seaside strolls. This year, I am excited to help my students continue to develop into well-rounded individuals in all dimensions: social, academic, physical, and mental.

I know that a strong partnership between educators and parents is key to student success. You can expect to hear from me regularly throughout the year with both whole-class and personal communication. In turn, if you have any questions or concerns, please reach out at any time.
