Three teams qualify for the All Irelands!

Congratulations to our golfers who had an incredibly successful day, with three out of four teams qualifying for the All-Irelands next April.

Aaron Hickey in the Junior Boys event shot an incredible 50pts to win the individual event in Greystones. His score was brilliantly backed up in 4th place by Cameron McConnell who came in with 40pts to give the side a total of 90pts which was good enough to win the Team event by 9pts. Cian McFadyen finished with 37pts on the day which was good enough for tied 13th while James Gallagher finished in a tie for 38th out of 89 competitors with a score of 31pts. Ryan Whelan completed the team.

Amy O'Connor won the Junior Girls event shooting an amazing 45pts. Alex Kearney finished 4th with 40pts to give our Junior girls team a total of 85pts, which was good enough to win the event by 6pts.

In Royal Curragh, Dylan Holmes was the pick of the Senior Boys finishing 32pts in a format where all players play off scratch. Theo Phelan and Rory Vaughan both carded 26pts but were unlucky not to get through, with the team finishing a very creditable 9th out of 30 schools.

The Senior Girls however, will join our two Junior teams in the All-Irelands next April. Abbie O'Connor finished in a tie for 4th place with a total of 21pts, again playing off scratch. Rachel Connolly's 16pts saw the team with a total of 37 pts which was enough to see us qualify by 1 whole point. Ella-May Spain worked hard for 14pts to complete the team effort.

Well done to all our players on this outstanding success and we look forward to the All-Irelands in April.
