Transition Year students Ali Lynch and Amy Lee were awarded the 'Kingston Cup'  on Saturday 7 March 2020 at the Wesley Inter-schools Music Festival .

Known as 'AL2', the girls entered for the 'O 15' Piano Duet Competition playing the famous Brahm's Hungarian Dance in f^# minor and, according to sources at the event, the adjudicator, Mr Pádhraic Ó Cuinneagáin, gave them glowing commentary, and a mark of 88%

Both Ali and Amy have been piano pupils of Gordon Douglas, a music teacher in our Junior School, since they were in P1, attending lessons privately with him since they progressed to secondary school.

Mr Douglas said "they are a delight to teach; and I was glad to see St Andrew's pupils highlighting the importance of piano duet playing as an integral part of music festivals".
