Second Year student Rian Geraghty-McDonnell took fifth place at the Irish Optimist Trials 2018 and  has qualified to represent Ireland at the 2018 Optimist World Championship in Cyprus next August. Sam Ledoux (First Year) came seventh, qualifiying for the Optimist European Championship in Schevningen, The Netherlands next June.

From St Andrew's, Kitty Flanagan, Moss Simmington and Kei Walker, qualifiers for the Irish Trials, also took part.
