The whole St Andrew's College community is saddened to learn that our brave former pupil, Captain John Hemingway DFC, last surviving RAF Battle of Britain pilot, has passed away. He was 105. We were privileged to meet Captain Hemingway when he visited the College with his son, Brian, in September 2023. We were all moved by his bravery, his courage, and his sense of duty, but will also never forget his advice to us ... "be conscious of others."
RIP Captain John Hemingway, Arden Sed Virens.
