News from the P1 Classroom

It's been a great start to the school year

P1 have had a great start to the school year.

In P1 there are lots of firsts from mental maths to independent writing. In maths we have been doing our number bonds to 10 and dividing and partitioning number 11 and 12 and revising the properties of 2D Shapes.

In English we started  our in class reader Looking After Zara.  The children are enjoying reading this to me and to each other and trying to predict what is going to happen next.

We have talked about growing and changing and we looked at photographs of ourselves and wrote about them. We talked a lot about kindness and how we should try to do a random act of kindness every day!

A very happy start to the school year.
