SAC Primary School Sailing Club – RIYC – 2023/2024

SAC Sailing Programs are organised by MJ Geraghty, Sailing Coordinator of SAC Primary School.  The Junior School Sailing Programs are run out of the RIYC, Dunlaoighaire.  Students in P4,P5 & P6 are eligible to take part in the programs.  There are three main programs that run throughout the year along (with an option of summer sailing). 

There are 3 main programs:

  1. Taste of Sail - SAC Jnr School - 1720s/keelboats - starting 10th April for 8 weeks Term 3 2024 & Term 1 New academic year 2024/25- running every Wednesday 2-5pm. Max 30 sailors.  No sailing experience required. Must have own buoyancy aid,  waterproofs & old runners/wetsuit also suitable.  Students from P4 – P6 are eligible.  Click here for sign up link.
  2. Feva training - SAC Jnr School - Must have sailing/experience/previous SAC 1720 courses or other.  Please ask sailing coordinator regarding eligibility if unsure.  Term 3 10th April for 8 weeks.  There will be another program beginning Term 1 academic year 2023/24.   Every Wednesday 2-5pm, Max 24 sailors. Must have own buoyancy aid,  waterproofs & old runners/wetsuit also suitable.   Sailors in this program are encouraged to continue to train in the program for the remainder of their time in SAC junior school.  These sailors will then have the opportunity to advance to the secondary school TR Program.  Click here for sign up link.
  3. Options for SAC junior sailors to join RIYC summer programs  - This allows our sailors to benefit from the better/warmer weather and longer days.  During this program our sailors have the opportunity to make friends with other sailors of similar age and ability.  There is alsoan opportunity for sailors to join RIYC.  All levels available.  Summer program dates TBC.
